I submitted these pictures for this year's competition the day before they were due, Friday, September 14th. I had great luck in the first year of the competition, 2005, winning second prize out of 544 pictures that were entered in the landscape category, but in 2006 I didn't win anything. You can see the images that I entered in 2006; I've re-entered some of them this year. I really like the pictures below of pelicans, as well as two winter trees and newborn cardinals; perhaps the pelicans have some chance of winning? (You can see my entire gallery of pelicans.)
