20060423 'Spring in the Triangle' a

This competition was open to students of my "Introduction to Digital Photography" class just finished (February-March 2006). The theme was "Spring in the Triangle" (we live in the Triangle area of NC). Entrants could submit up to ten pictures, any size up to 16"x20", mounted or not (no prejudice either way in judging), B&W or color. Work submitted was to be entrants' own original work, taken with a digital camera at any time; no photo editing other than sharpening, cropping, other standard optimizations like digital artifact reduction and contrast adjustment, or panoramic processing was allowed. I judged the (physical and not these later submitted electronic) pictures on criteria of creativity, aesthetics, and interpretation of the theme.
